Hematocrit Values of Male and Female Staffs of two Bank Located in Seoul

Abstract
Hematocrit values obtained from K-Bank staffs(1219 males and 401 females) and
S-Bank staffs(1030 males and 582 females) were analysed statistically.
In the two bank staff groups, the values obtained from the staffs showing evidence of
tuberculosis, hypertension, glycosuria and albuminuria were excluded.
The determination of hematocrit was conducted as a routine annual health
examinations which were held in spring of 1973.
The results of this study were as follows:
1. The mean hematocrit value of male staffs of K-Bank was 44.9¡¾3.6% and the same
of S-Bank was 44.9¡¾3.4%.
2. The mean hematocrit value of female staffs of K-Bank was 41.6¡¾3.9% and the
same of S-Bank was 39.2¡¾3.4%.
3. There was no significant difference between the mean hematocrit values of male
staffs of two banks according to age groups but there were 1¡­2 Ht% difference in
mean hematocrit values between the male staffs of two banks and healthy Japanese of
16 to 30 year old age group.
4. There was no significant difference between the mean hematocrit values of female
staffs in both bank and healthy Japanese females of same age groups.
5. The incidence of anemia of male staffs based on 41 hematocrit value was 15.7%
in K-Bank and 14.4% in S-Bank and the same based on 39% was 8% in K-Bank
and 3.8% in S-Bank.
6. The incidence of anemia of female staffs based on 35% was 5.2% in K-Bank and
7.9% in S-Bank and the same based on 34% was 3.5% in K-Bank and 3.4% in
S-Bank.
